Imagine, a quilt hanger so easy to use, you just might have fun hanging your quilt!

Each Designer hanger featuring our new Fabric Inlay System comes with a piece of adhesive backed foam which is sized to fit in a grooFABRICINSTRUCTIONS8.jpg (32420 bytes)ve in the front of the hanger. This makes applying the fabric to the hanger very easy to do. Read below for complete instructions on how to use this feature.

  1. The first easy step is to cut the foam inlay strip to the proper size. To do this, place the foam in the groove on the front of the hanger with the sticky side up, allowing one end to over hang the end of the groove. Remove the backing tape and slide the foam strip all the way down to one end. Now trim the other end to match the length of the groove, keeping in mind that a tight fit is best (this procedure is necessary because the foam can not be cut to size until the                      fabricinstruction2.jpg (37273 bytes)           backing is removed, otherwise, it will shrink when the backing is removed and be too short. We found this out the hard way).
  2. Prepare a piece of fabric at least 1" wider and 6" longer than the inlay strip. It is best if you iron the fabric at this point to remove any wrinkles (try not to stretch the fabric while doing this). Now place the fabric face down of a flat surface.
  3. Position the foam inlay strip (adhesive side down) over the fabric trying to keep the excess fabric even all the way around. Lightly press into place, and then check your positioning. At this point, the fabric can be removed and repositioned if you are trying to line up a pattern in the fabric or a cross stitched design, for example. Once you areFABRICINSTRUCTION3.jpg (28830 bytes) satisfied with the positioning, press firmly into place. NOTE: If you plan to reuse the same piece of foam later on for a different fabric, then it is suggested that you lightly press the fabric onto the foam so you may remove it easier later. Also, additional foam may be ordered from us if yours becomes unusable. The cost is $1.00 per foot plus $2.00 S/H unless ordered with other merchandise. Please call us to order this foam, as this is not available on the web site at this time.
  4. Trim the fabric approximately 1/4" away from the inlay strip on both long sides. Trim the ends as shown in the picture at right. You should trim the excess fabric away up to the corner, taking care not to cut into the corner of theFABRICINSTRUCTION4.jpg (37188 bytes) foam.
  5. Fold the excess fabric over on each end of the inlay strip and secure with tape to the back of the strip.
  6. Place the inlay strip into the groove of the hanger, fabric side up. Using a plastic card or seam gauge, push the excess fabric into the groove by sliding the card along the inside of the groove, as shown in the photo at left. Repeat on the other side while holding the first side in place.

Now wasn't that easy? Actually, reading through these instructions is more difficult than using the fabric inlay system!  FABRICINSTRUCTION7.jpg (38465 bytes)
