Is the hanger safe for my quilt?

Our SOFTouch™ Series hangers were designed with this very question in mind.  The design uses foam cord to hold your quilt which has several advantages where the safety of your quilt is concerned, they include:

bullet    Your quilt is held securely and evenly across it's entire length so you won't have a problem with the quilt being stretched out of shape.  Some hangers on the market today hold large quilts by clamping onto several relatively small areas across the length on the quilt.  These areas will be stretched out of shape over time and could damage the fabric.
bullet    The foam cord used to hold your quilt is acid-free and chemically inert so it will in no way harm the fabric in your quilt.
bullet    The foam cord cushions your quilt so that areas in your quilt that are thicker than the rest (seams and bindings) will not be crushed between two hard unforgiving surfaces as with most hangers on the market today.  The foam allows for differences in thickness in your quilt by molding itself to the irregularities in thickness.

Are they difficult to hang on the wall once the quilt is inserted?

NO!  This is another feature we designed into this hanger that we know you will  appreciate.  A hanging slot runs the full length of the back.  Spacing your nails or screws a precise distance apart is not necessary with this system (just get them level).  We do recommend that you use the screws that come with the hanger and insert them into studs in your wall. Your quilt and hanger together can get heavy and this will assure the screws will hold.  To hang your quilt, first slide the plastic locking devices to the center of the hanger. Now place the hanging slot over the screw heads and lower it until the screws engage the lip of the slot.  Pull out gently to guarantee that the screws are actually resting in the slot. Now you can slide the hanger right or left to position it on the wall just where you want it. Once in position, slide the plastic locking devices over the screw heads to secure it to the wall.

What size do I need to order for my quilt?

Measure across your quilt on the side that you intend to place in the hanger and that is the size  of the smallest hanger that will hold your quilt.  What we have found though, is the wall hanging looks nicer if the hanger is oversized a little, so add at least 2 inches to your quilt measurement to find the size of hanger needed.  The shorter the hanger, the less over sizing you will need.

Will they hold large quilts?

Yes!  Our standard sizes go up to a 96 inch hanger but you can order a custom size any length up to 106 inches.

How long will it take to get my new hanger?

If we have the hangers in stock (we usually try to keep hangers in the standard sizes 48" and under in the oak stain in stock) most orders ship in a couple of days.  For custom orders or if the hanger you order is not in stock, we will usually ship within two to four weeks from the time you place your order. The only exception to this is right after a large show, shipping times will be slightly longer due to the increased volume of orders. If you are wondering about shipping times on a certain size, please give us a call or send us an email.

What if I don't like it?

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee so if for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you can return it for a full refund of the purchase price of the hanger.  The only exception to this is when you return a custom sized SOFTouch Series hanger, we may charge a 15% restocking fee.
